Another Healthcare Crisis: The Medical Care Of Our Presidents Throughout History

2:00 - 3:30 p.m. Resident FLS Competition - "Top Gun"
In this contest, surgical residents from each of the ten general surgery residencies throughout Massachusetts will be invited to showcase their laparoscopic skills. The competition will consist of teams of 2-3 residents from each institution participating in a series of tests where laparoscopic skills such as intracorporeal knot tying, transferring of objects from one hand to another, and pattern cutting will be timed and graded. Representatives from simulation centers throughout Boston, including Brigham and Women's Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center are being actively recruited to assist in the judging. The winners of the competition will receive a monetary award and other prizes such as surgical textbooks.
