Learning Objectives
This activity is designed for the practicing surgeon to gain an understanding of current surgical research and its clinical applications as well as current socio-economic issues. There will be invited guest lecturers, podium presentations, poster displays, and solicited audience discussion. At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Participants will be able to describe the spectrum of challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic to the delivery of surgical care.
- Participants will be able to recognize the various challenges and benefits associated with use of virtual tools to aid in surgical education and clinical care.
- Participants will be able to describe training challenges presented by innovations in patient care that require expertise with new and complex procedures.
